The RICA consists of two separate assessments: the RICA
Written Examination and the RICA Video Performance Assessment.
A passing score on either assessment represents successful
completion of the RICA requirement. The Written Examination
is a paper-and-pencil test administered during a four-hour
test session. The Video Performance Assessment centers
on candidate-created videotapes of the candidate teaching
reading; candidates submit the videotapes and related
documentation for scoring. For more information about
the RICA assessments, see “Overview
of the RICA”
and “Test
Dates.”
