The RICA consists of two assessment options: the RICA Written Examination and the RICA Video Performance Assessment. A passing score on either assessment represents successful completion of the RICA requirement. The Written Examination is a computer-based test administered during a four-hour test session that includes 15 minutes to complete a nondisclosure agreement and a tutorial. The Video Performance Assessment is based on candidate-created video recordings of the candidate teaching reading; candidates submit the video recordings and related documentation for scoring. For more information about the RICA assessments, see "Overview of the RICA."
